Getting Reaquainted with an Old Love...

I said in an earlier post that I got out my pastels.

I'm trying to trend more toward abstract.  My older paintings are more realistic... a lot of detail.  I'm not satisfied with this look yet.  With my older paintings, it seemed I was never satisfied until the subject looked real (with the exception of some impressionistic landscapes). I definitely need more practice... I might even need to try another medium to get the look I want.  I'll keep you posted.

I think you are off to a fabulous start to getting back to your old love! I can't wait to see what else you will create. Love the colors and your blending in this piece!

  2. oh this is sweet! I'm always after a 'painterly look' with my art pieces....I figure that's what a camera is for...absolute realism...heheee...

but be sure to keep all the pieces of D in each work of art that you create..and it will be stunning! guaranteed!

  3. Very pretty! I love seeing your art! Wouldn't it be fun if we could all sit down at the kitchen table together...with our pens, pencils and brushes! ♥
