A paper butterfly for "The Butterfly Effect Project."
Please see my sidebar for the link or click here.
These 3 are painted in oils on gessoed scrapbook paper. They are about 3 x 6 inches.
My plan is to have them matted together as they appear here.
The one in the middle is a Zebra Longwing... the state butterfly of Florida. The others are longwings too, but I would need to look them up to tell what they are. Enjoy!
These are stunning Di. It was such an honour to take part in the butterfly effect project.
ReplyDeleteNice work, your state butterfly is lovely. I don't even know what ours is. These will look great hanging in one group. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the zebra longwing was Florida's state butterfly! I love them so much... also didn't know there were other kinds of longwings! Lovely paintings...
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what our state butterfly was! These are all beautiful! Hope you're doing good, my friend! I've missed you! ♥
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterflies every one of them!! I love the idea of painting them onto patterned paper too! It really looks as if they are at home in a field of color :)
