I start a new job Monday! Working as a clerk for the County Health Dept. in the Nutrition Division. I'll certainly learn how to eat better than I do. My hubby has been really pushing me to get some exercise and new job is only 2 miles from home...
So... meet Ruby Belle, my new (used) transporation to and from work! She doesn't have a bell... but I just might have to get one. I will need a rear-view mirror, because I'll be riding on roads with no sidewalks, but only a few hundred feet on a through street. I took a nice after supper ride tonight... Boy am I gonna be sore for a while!

Congratulations on your new job. Looks like you passed the "test." That bike will save on gas, even if it is only two miles (by that I mean two miles in a car). Of course, two miles can be pretty daunting when you are working and riding a bike to work. I hope you don't have to do a lot of walking at work, or you will be very tired at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteI fear a bike would not work well here. First, with our over 100 degree F endless summer days, it is unsafe health wise to ride and exert a lot of energy. And the afternoons are the worst. I don't even go outside after 11 am unless it's to get my mail. And then there's winter, where the snow and ice would slow you down. Aren't you glad you live in a temperate state?
what a beauty!! yes, she needs a bell...and maybe a nice basket too!! best wishes for a great first day at work!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new job.
Hope it is everything you hope for...certainly a bonus that it is within pedaling distance on that really spiffy bike...she's a beauty!

I just read on Patty's comments that you crashed! I hope you're ok! I have many near misses and hope I don't seriously take a tumble one of these days! Your bike is wonderful though! Keep it up - you'll get stronger and your balance will get better - we're not kids anymore, but they say you never forget how to ride a bike :)
