My Friend's Wedding...

My friend Jenn and I are planning her October wedding! We've gotten our dresses and shoes, serving set, all the silk flowers for bouquets and centerpieces and all the other decorations. I've made her a guest book. I'll be making her a hairpiece with one of these butterflies too...

and her mom's corsage (it's upside down so you can see it better)...

a sample boutonniere...

and the first brush for a centerpiece.

I haven't started on our bouquets yet... but they will be similar to the centerpieces. Her dress has all these colors in it... is tea length, flowing and has a handkerchief hem.

I'm having fun with this and it's keeping me somewhat busy...  I'd really like to do this kind of thing for a living... for small and intimate weddings at least...

Wouldn't that be a wonderful way to keep romance in your life?

  3. A few years ago, I made all the flowers for four weddings. These were for friends. I made the mothers' corsages, all the groomsmen's boutonnieres, the centerpieces, the bridal bouquet, along with one to throw, the bride's maids bouquets, etc. I got tired of doing it quite quickly. Possibly because I wasn't being paid for these made it less appealing, because they were my gifts to the brides to be. But I can't see doing it forever, because after only a short period of time it got boring.

I'm glad you are having fun with this one. I bet this is going to be one super wedding from all the lovely colors the bride to be has chosen.

  4. the colors are so vibrantly autumnal. i love them. be sure to get some good photos of everything you do for your friend's wedding - perhaps you could make up some business cards and start an online portfolio (like a professional facebook page) linked to your blog, for local people to know your work, both artistically, and as a wedding planner. also, have you looked into etsy, as a place to sell your art?
