Mother Earth...
She lies quietly...
holding us to her bosom...
hoping we save her...

Interesting photo. Is is a person in makeup? I couldn't tell for sure even though I enlarged the photo.
ReplyDeleteDianne,
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning photo. It truly brings home the idea that Gaia is a living being who must be protected and cared for by all. I love this, thank you.

Very well said.. seen this phot many a time.. but you really saw.. yes, let us do it..
ReplyDeleteLeslie, it appears to be a stone sculpture of a woman lying prone on the ground. She is covered with moss and vines, except her face and her hair appears to be a tuft of some kind of grass behind her head. She's gorgeous isn't she?
ReplyDeleteI have admired this photo for a long time, but I don't remember where I saw it first, every time she shows up, I remind myself to make a painting of Gaia in her dreaming state...she is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog Dianne, I appreciate your kind comment.
I find yours very inspiring and I sit here with my morning cup of coffee and a smile. Thanks for taking the time to share your heart. Gris
Amazing photo! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteInteresting haiku too.
All the best, Boonie
Almost couldn't read the print on your blog Dianne...it is so dark it blends in with the background on my screen...did make out your haiku finally

I can read it fine. I'm getting a white background. Not sure what others are seeing. This is one gorgeous photo, though. I was really taken by it.
ReplyDeleteOMG...this is drop dead gorgeous!!! I absolutely love the image. I am so glad I am not the only one that sometimes forgets where they got a photo. So many freebies out there that it's hard to remember sometimes where they all came from. The generosity in the blogging community is just amazing. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! This reminds me a little of the mountain man in Ravenna, Italy I think it is. It looks like he is melting into a small lake. How special! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful ~ the photo and the haiku!
ReplyDeleteHello Diane....happy you stopped by my blog....I am a regular Friday haiku with Rebecca! Ya know we went to San Miguel together last month?? I love visiting you here on your blog...stay in touch
