4 x 4 Friday Challenge

The theme for this week's 4x4 Friday Challenge is Wisdom... I'm still home sick, but have my laptop here in bed with me.  Here's my digital collage for the challenge...

The quote, from Socrates, is one of my favorites.  The inquisitive little girl is from Magic Moonlight.  The Moth is from my own collection.

Theme Thursday Challenge

Okay, I've felt good enough today to work on a couple of digital collages... This weeks theme for Theme Thursday is Spring... Here are 2 digital pieces for the challenge...

I'm not sure which one I like better... I like that the first one is not as busy... but I like that the second one is a ground nest and I could surround it with flowers. I also like that the rose vine creeps out onto the frame. I really like mixing black and white graphics with color.  All but the flowers are from my own collection. The flowers are Flickr freebies.

Missing creativity...

I apologize for not keeping up with posts and comments this week... I'm suffering from major allergies and sinus congestion and generally feel like... well.... you know... I came home from work sick yesterday and am in bed today... I got no sleep last night... I even got up around 2 am and just looked at art I've been working on, just sitting there in their flats.. I'll try to catch up...or at least resume when I feel better.

Welcome to the Tea Party. This week's theme is "Life in..."

I had this wonderful post with beautiful photos all about natural Florida... sigh... habitats, wildlife, rare plants... lost it... sigh... So here is a charming sight I pass by every morning and afternoon on my way to and from work.  I love that the Cedar tree has lichens and Resurrection fern growing on it. The succulents are what my mom used to call "Hens and Bitties." If a leaf drops it roots and don't you just love that old clay pipe?

Time for another cup of Twinings African Rooibos tea... sigh...

Sunday Postcard Challenge

Here's my (digital) Sunday Postcard... The theme is travel.

 

The ship image came from Flickr Collage Images, the seagull from Google... I can't remember where I got the lovers... probably from one of the freebie sites on my right hand bar... but I couldn't find it again to give them credit (I really should organize my images). If it's yours, please let me know so I can mention it.

4 x 4 Friday Challenge

I had already completed the 3 digital collages for Collage Obsession, when I saw the theme for the 4 x 4 Friday Challenge. The "give me wings" take would have made a great piece for International Women's Day. But... this digital collage will do just as well... I think...

The background and woman through the keyhole are from Diva DEste and the keys are from Flickr Collage Images.

Collage Obsession Challenge

These are my takes on the "stairs" theme for Collage Obsession. I did three digital collages, all along the same lines...  The staircase photos are from Microsoft Clipart Online. Two ladies are from vintage dress pattern envelopes and the last lady and butterfly and moth wings are from my own collection.

 

The first two are more about women's empowerment...

The sentiment is the last stanza of a poem I wrote... It follows the last collage....

 

The last pertains more to the poem...

 

They say there's a stairway

leading to Heaven on high.

They say life is a journey,
the stairs we must climb.

They say we'll be reunited
when I finally get there.

I say, give me wings...
and I'll need no stairs...
